Chapter 1249

---

“If you truly loved her, you wouldn’t have hurt her. Do you have any idea how much damage an abortion can cause to her body? You claimed to love her, yet you showed no regard for her well-being. Ultimately, your obsession with her was nothing more than a sick desire stemming from your inability to have her.”
“No! No! I love her! I’m the one who loves her the most in the entire world!” Kyson’s eyes welled up with tears as he repeatedly roared his declaration.
Sonny’s face remained filled with contempt.
“Mr. Payne will always be there for her in times of danger, no matter how wounded he is or even if it means risking his life. He cares about her more than he cares about his own life. And he never forces her to do anything she doesn’t want to. His love for her is silent yet strong.
Kyson, can you do the same for her?”
Do everything for the one you loved without expecting anything in return?
Why shouldn’t he ask for some kind of reward for all the effort he had put in?
What was the point of making an effort if there was no gain?
He released his grip on Sonny, wiped his hands with a tissue, and responded coldly, “Whether Lucinda loves me or not, she will be mine.

After spending enough time with me, she’ll eventually be moved by my sincerity. I’ll make her willingly get married to me!”
Tossing the tissue aside, he glanced at the man beside him.
“Go on and ‘take good care’ of him.”
With that command, Kyson turned around and walked away. The beating resumed immediately and one could hear the horrifying crack of the whip as it tore through Sonny’s flesh.
Kyson strode out of the prison, not once did he look back.

The following day, as dawn broke, Lucinda was stirred from her sleep by the sound of a car engine roaring outside.
Still groggy, she rolled over to continue sleeping.
In the past, she wouldn’t have been able to sleep at such a critical moment.
However, she couldn’t control the physical exhaustion that came with pregnancy.
Five minutes later, a knock echoed through the door. Kyson’s voice came from the other side.
“Lucinda, get ready. I’m taking you to see Sonny.”
Lucinda snapped awake immediately. She called out through the door, “Really?”
She couldn’t believe that he would allow her to see Sonny so easily.
Or perhaps he had devised a new scheme?
“Yes, of course. I’ll be waiting for you downstairs in the living room. Join me when you’re ready,” Kyson replied in a cheerful tone.
